Nekono Fuguri is an ordinary and unremarkable 11-year-old boy in the fifth grade.
One day he had a very curious dream.
A smiling boy with the ears of a cat appeared before him.
He told Fuguri,
"A grave crisis is about to descend on your planet. You must use this device to save your people!"
"Wait! What do you mean, CRISIS? And how am I supposed to save everyone?"
Fuguri asked, but the boy just smiled and
disappeared into darkness, saying only,
"You must not be seen while you are using it. OK?".
"Wait...Wait! What is it?!"
Fuguri woke up. Dawn had not yet broken.
Then he noticed a strange headband beside his pillow.
It looked just like the one he was given in the dream,
a headband with what looked like cat's ears attached.
"...Isn't this a girl's accessory?"
He had no idea where it had come from, and as it was too early to be awake,
Fuguri stopped thinking about the headband and fell back to sleep again.
