The 4th talk
Homework (01/06) 07/02/10

One day during summer vacation, Fuguri was very upset.

Vacation was coming to and end, but he had not even decided on a theme for
his personal research, which was his summer homework assignment.
Everyone else was making breeding diaries of insects or plants,
but Fuguri thought these themes were too overdone and too boring
for someone like him, the ultimate hero.
"What shall I do?"
But he realized that he was wasting time worrying,
so he wet to the library to see if he could find some ideas.
He knew there was not enough time to research plants or animals,
so he centered his search on the social or historical fields.
At last he found a dusty old book on the shelf.
"History of flood disasters in Torajima city....floods?"
Lately, he had become sensitive to words like "damage" or "disaster"
because he often wound up rampaging as a result of his transformation.
He took the hefty old book down and carried it to the reading room.
"Mmm...This is not going to be easy...."
It was published by a local history research group in the city.
Since the literary style was old and photographs were few,
it was hard for Fuguri to understand.
However, he could not resist the black-and-white pictures
of the flood damaged which had been caused 40 years previously.
It was really a frightful scene. Houses and buildings were deeply submerged,
and cars and trains were floating away.
"I found it! It must be a good research theme!"
Fuguri hurriedly put the book away and rushed out from the library.
